Throwback Thursday - snow

Remember that time last year when we had deep snowdrifts in the backyard?

Me too. This year we have a few centimeters. Snow corgi Merida is not amused.

Throwback Thursday - Snow

It's November 19th and there's no snow on the ground. I'm a little unnerved by this - wavering between 'this is abnormal!' and 'I'm ok with no snow.'

Today's throwback is to last year when we were receiving snow on November 19th and 20th.

Throwback Thursday - Let me out!

Throwback to the day we picked up Gimli from his breeder. He was not pleased and cried for about an hour in the car.

Summertime Love-in

I've heard that if you're going to San Francisco, you ought to wear flowers in your hair.

This is us on the boat leaving Alcatraz and heading back to the port. 7 years ago.

Pleeeeaaseeeee? I'm such a good little puppy, I'd never eat those baseboards... (liar, she did)... or steal one of your running socks and eat a hole through the toe... (liar, she did that too).... or try to eat one of the snaps from your brand new cardigan sweater... (yup, thank God I caught her!)

First bath

7 years ago, we bathed Gimli for the first time. Early one morning, he had gone digging in the backyard and he was a muddy mess. (This is why I'm still wearing pajamas!).

Clearly, he was not impressed.

He was so little back then, the towel completely wrapped him up. Now, he's lucky it goes around his butt.

Strange positions

That fluffy fellow Marcel suggested we post pictures of our corgis in strange, but comfortable sleeping positions. Thus, today's throwback Thursday takes you way back to when my two were puppies.

I found Gimli here one day. He used to like to sleep around the toilet - I guess it kept his belly cool. He doesn't hang around the bowl anymore, that's puppy stuff.

Here's Merida trying to escape. After a while, she never liked the xpen, much preferring to hang out with us and sneak away to chew on things like baseboards and corners of coffee tables.

Throwback Thursday - Chase me!

Can I tell you how happy I am that the farmer isn't planting corn this year? Those rows always scared me. I was convinced something was going to come out and get us.

Fancy dress

This was about 3 years ago. We were on our way to our friends' wedding and I had to take my obligatory picture with Gimli.

Throwback Thursday - Girlie face

Back when Merida first came to live with us. She could fit in my forearm as I carried her down the stairs. She could fit on my chest when she snuggled to fall asleep.

And those little teeth made her a little bitey face. Now she's a big girl with a big bark... that she lets out from the safety of the house or from behind big brofur.

Little Corgis

Marcel posted a picture of himself as a little one for today's Throwback Thursday so I thought I'd do the same.

Here's Gimli, the day we met him, at 6 weeks old. Mike's holding him. This is right before he bit a chunk of the Mickey Mouse graphic from Mike's shirt.

Here's Merida at about 6 weeks. She took a liking to me and my hand. She lay down soon after and started to doze next to my leg.

Throwback Thursday - I hate grey

One of Gimli's eyebrow hairs, you know the long ones that stick up from the top of the eye, is grey. Completely grey, white even.

He's six and a half years old. Guys, he's not supposed to have grey hair yet, at least another 6 years before it's time for that...

Today's throwback was to when he was the perfect mixture of red, black, and white, with nary a grey hair around.

I don't know this grey of which you speak.

Throwback Thursday - Ghost Puppy

In our previous house, we had a fireplace and one of Gimli's favorite things to do was to look for the Ghost Puppy.

It's hard to believe he used to be so small, I miss having a little one around.

Days of Christmas - 7

Our Throwback Thursday for this month:

Puppy Merida on her stocking.

Six years ago, this was us with squirmy little fluffy Gimli.

I miss having a fluffy puppy swishing around the house. Fluffs are so incredibly soft and Gimli was such a cutie at that age.

Throwback Thursday - the Evil Queen and I

We honeymooned at Disney and one of the highlights of the trip was attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. We got to trick or treat like little kids again and it was neat seeing the park done up with "scary" decorations.

But for me, this was the best part.

In case you were unaware, the Evil Queen is one of my favorite characters... as you can see from my shirt.

Throwback Thursday - Lit up Gimli

This week's throwback is when Gimli was about 3 months old. We were getting ready for Christmas and testing the lights, when I had the idea to take some artsy pictures with him.

Clearly, they did not go very well.

Hard to imagine this little fluff is now a large fluff!

Throwback Thursday - Chip and I

Notes:

- This is 1985.
- This is Chip. How do you tell the difference? Chip has front teeth in the center, while Dale has front teeth on the sides of his mouth. Chip has a black nose and Dale has a red nose. Chip has a smooth head and Dale has a ruffled bit of hair on his head.
- What is going on with my hair? Lord have mercy, it needs a good combing.
